In order to further promote the full-chain management of plastic pollution and accelerate the development of “replacing plastic with bamboo”, the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments issued the “Three-year Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of “Replacing Plastic with Bamboo”. On November 7, the General Office of the State Council issued “Bamboo for Plastic”, proposing to initially establish a “Bamboo for Plastic” industrial system by 2025 to further improve the quality, product types, industrial scale, and comprehensive benefits of “Bamboo for Plastic” products. The output of “Plastics” products, which are the target of action, has been significantly increased, and the market share of key products has been significantly increased.

Material compounding to maximize utilization

Bamboo appeared on Earth approximately 30 million years ago and is one of the fastest growing plants in the world. Bamboo contains a large amount of bamboo fiber, and the materials and devices processed into it have high-strength mechanical properties. If processed into functional products, its application fields can be greatly expanded. Compared with traditional plastics and other materials, bio-based materials such as bamboo and wood have stronger environmental protection advantages and can replace traditional materials such as plastics, steel, and cement to the greatest extent. They have now become emerging industries leading economic development and technological innovation. Of course, it is difficult to maximize the use of bamboo through these single uses. Composites solve this problem. The bamboo winding technology independently developed in my country mixes modified bamboo with resin, making full use of the toughness of bamboo fiber and the high axial tension of bamboo to obtain annular composite materials without stress defects. The main advantage of this technology is that it can effectively combine bamboo with other materials, so that the new material not only has the toughness, strength and environmental protection of bamboo, but also incorporates the high strength, corrosion resistance and other advantages of other materials.
